About Spirit Hospitality

The origin of Spirit began in 1998 when the Comfort Inn in Loveland, Colorado was built. Bill Albrecht, who had already been in the construction and development businesses as the owner of Albrecht Homes, was no stranger to the ins and outs of custom and unique land development. After meeting Rob Uehran, who was motivated specifically by hotel development, the two men put their expertise together to open the Comfort Inn's doors in August of '98.

The Comfort Inn was just the beginning of this quickly flourishing company. Business took off and Spirit decided to build its subsequent hotels under the WILLCO Development monikers. Spirit's second property, another Comfort Inn, this time located in Fort Collins, Colorado and was developed and opened in November 2000. This hotel later sold to new management in February 2007. The third Spirit property came to fruition in July 2004, when Spirit built a Super 8 in Wheatland, Wyoming.
Spirit continued its expansion efforts and developed two more hotels in 2007; the Hampton Inn & Suites in Greeley, Colorado in March and the Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Loveland, Colorado, in November. The following year Spirit Hospitality ventured into a new level of property with extended-stay hotels and the Candlewood Suites in Loveland, Colorado was born, June 2008. Continuing on this lucrative extended-stay path, the Candlewood Suites in Greeley, Colorado was built in September 2013 and not long afterward the Candlewood Suites, Fort Collins, Colorado was completed in December 2014. This particular property in Fort Collins was the first new hotel in the area in the previous six years!
2016 marked the sale of Spirit's Comfort Inn, Loveland, which sold in March, and the expansion of the company portfolio as Spirit moved into the Northern Denver market, opening the Candlewood Suites in Thornton, Colorado in May. Eight short months later, Comfort Suites, in Loveland/Johnstown was born, January 2017.
With no sign of slowing down in sight, Spirit and its amazing teams are deep in the throws of concept, development, and construction with several projects in the pipeline.

Spirit Hospitality and the WILLCO Developments have demonstrated an unwavering presence in the hotel industry by offering project services in all aspects of development and operations. By building from the ground up, and staffing and operating these properties, Spirit strives to continue creating an atmosphere and an experience that captures the desire for guests to want to return, time and time again. Spirit Hospitality has widespread knowledge in the Northern Colorado and Southern Wyoming marketplaces and has established lucrative relationships with well-known, prestigious hotel brands. The element that most sets Spirit apart is its dedicated team of employees, whether it be in the corporate office or any one of the company's hotels.
