About Spirit Hospitality

The origin of Spirit Hospitality stems from a family owned lake resort and campground in rural North Dakota called The Spirit Inn. Rob Uehran, President of Acquisitions and Development, was inspired by witnessing the hospitality of his mother and the drive of his father in the creation and success of their business. When Rob moved to Colorado in 1994 with the motivation for hotel development, he was in search of a partner to make his vision a reality.   He met Bill Albrecht, the now CEO of Spirit Hospitality.  Bill was already in business as the owner of Albrecht Homes; a custom home and land development company. Shortly after the two were introduced, they combined their expertise and built their first hotel, the Comfort Inn in Loveland, CO, in August of 1998.

The Comfort Inn was just the start of a quickly flourishing company. The two chose Loveland and the Comfort Inn because the location was worthwhile and the Choice brand was well known to Rob. After four years of developing their business practices, Spirit Hospitality, LLC was formed. The business took off and Spirit decided to build subsequent hotels under the WILLCO Development moniker. Spirit's second hotel, another Comfort Inn, located in Fort Collins, Colorado, was sold in February of 2007.  In July of 2004, Spirit built its third hotel, a Super 8 in Wheatland, Wyoming. The company continued to flourish and developed two hotels in 2007; the Hampton Inn & Suites in Greeley, Colorado in March and the Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Loveland, Colorado, in November. The following year Spirit Hospitality ventured into extended stay hotels and the Candlewood Suites in Loveland, Colorado was born in June of 2008. Continuing on this new endeavor, the Candlewood Suites in Greeley, Colorado was built in September of 2013 and not long after the Candlewood Suites in Fort Collins, Colorado was complete in December of 2014. The Candlewood Suites - Fort Collins was the first new hotel in the area in the previous six years.

Spirit Hospitality and the WILLCO Developments have demonstrated a unique presence in the hotel industry by offering services in both areas of development and operations. The company strives to continue creating an atmosphere and an experience that captures the desire for guests to want to return to its properties. The company has widespread knowledge in the Northern Colorado and South Eastern Wyoming markets and has established lucrative relationships with well-known prestigious brands. The element that sets Spirit Hospitality apart from the rest is its dedicated team of employees. Spirit Hospitality gives gratitude and thanks to these individuals because they are who cultivate Spirit Hospitality and what it is today. This diverse and knowledgeable team gives Spirit the confidence for new ventures and the motivation to continue exploring new and different facets of the hotel industry.
